Our 1st Space Coast Minecraft Users Group meetup of 2015 is on the calendar for Sunday, March 1, 2 – 4 pm.
The SCMUG is organized to bring game fans together for collaborative play, as well as for powerful learning. Featuring discussions, presentations, build-off challenges, and a monitored LAN server environment, users will break into small groups and play collaboratively to complete a themed build challenge.
As many students are accomplished game players, this event meets the students in their comfort zone to teach critical 21st century “soft skills” like design, planning, communication, team-work, managing a tight deadline, and presentation. An intro to command block usage and programming within Minecraft, will add an exciting element of learning-to-code and be sure to please these highly motivated participants.
We will continue to schedule and hold monthly meetings. The SCMUG are free for all Codecraft Lab members, and open to any student. A donation of $10.00 per family for non-members is requested at the door. These meetups are open to the first 45 student participants and will be held at the Codecraft Lab HQ in downtown EGAD.
Bring your friends, build a team, create with Minecraft!
