Introduce your student to the world of Machine Learning with JavaScript! In this camp, students will learn the basics of JavaScript and machine learning, leading up to building a “magic mirror” program that can “see” and “identify” objects shown in front of it. Then, to develop a deeper understanding of how Machine Learning works, students will train the model through reward based learning to play a game of rock paper scissors.

Who is the course appropriate for?

This camp is best for students that are a little older, or have some experience with Scratch or have tried other Creative Coding camps.

What will campers "take home?"

Campers will end the week with a better understanding of key programming concepts, vocabulary, and projects to share.

What time do campers meetup online?
The best of Codecraft summer camps, meeting at 3 PM EST, two hours daily for one week. Broken down into bite sized chunks, small groups of campers meet online to work together on fun and focused computer science projects.

How many campers in each online session?

To provide a premium learning experience we keep camps exclusive. With up to just 8 campers, our Instructors can help the campers get to know each other and the material. We aren’t new to this. As researchers backed by the National Science Foundation, Codecraft Works has been developing the best experiences and discovering how to balance our desires for socialization and impactful, synchronous instruction, for years now.

How does online summer camp work?

Codecraft camps online strive to provide a classic summer camp experience, without a highway commute! Campers join small groups and a Codecraft Instructor each day and develop computer science skills, new friends, and explore technology. We take a little time for brain breaks, encourage group collaboration, and foster socialization to complement the learning experience. During the week, they’re guided through building and iterating individual projects, culminating in a demo of their work for friends and family at the end of the camp. Participation develops both technical and soft skills, beneficial for future confidence and communication.
